The Digital Trade Governance and Readiness Programme, including ASEAN DEFA is an executive blended learning course designed to strengthen the capacity of Indonesian officials to engage with and govern digital trade. Developed by Pusbangkom in partnership with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), the programme provides a comprehensive overview of digital trade foundations, covering cross-border data flows, e-commerce regulation, cybersecurity standards, and AI implications. Following this foundational module, participants will explore the architecture and implementation of the ASEAN DEFA once the legal text is published, mapping the agreement against Indonesia's existing global trade commitments. Through expert-facilitated online and in-person discussions, ASEAN case studies, and practical policy simulations across three modules, the course equips policymakers to successfully translate international digital trade obligations into actionable national practice.
